Although he doesn't have the mega stardom of the likes of Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Dido etc, Darren Hayes IS popular and has a large, loyal fan base within the UK (as well as in other countries) Most people would perhaps know him as the lead singer, songwriter and front man of the successful Australian band 'Savage Garden' - a band that sold well over 20 million albums in their few years together!
Darren Hayes is now a solo artist, his first album release 'Spin' (released April 2002) entered the charts at number two in the UK (having previously been number one in mid-weeks, but was just 'pipped to the post' by Celine Dion) The album generated four successful singles - all top 20 hits, the first of which being Insatiable a song that hung around, going up and down the charts for weeks!! Autumn 2002, Darren Hayes completed an 18 date sell out tour of the UK and was one of the main acts and most talked about performers at Party In The Park and Capital Christmas Live that year.
Now, Darren Hayes is on the verge of releasing his second solo album, an album which is assured to be just as, if not more successful, as his first solo offering.
Despite doing numerous CD signing sessions around the world for 'Spin' in 2002, none were offered within the UK - yet he had most of his success here that year. We would like you to sign this petition to make a request with Sony music and major UK CD retail outlets to at least consider setting up some kind of signing session in the UK for his new album...
