World Trade Center Cough Relief

We are concerned about the continued deaths the tragedy of 9/11 continues to claim, through the respiratory illness commonly called "World Trade Center Cough." Rescuers and clean up crews were exposed to various toxic fumes and particles in the debris of the world trade center including asbestos. This exposure has caused severe respiratory illness and death in many of these heroes.

American men and women risked their lives to recover and restore a sense of security to our country following the attacks of September 11, 2001. They are, without a doubt, heroes. Unfortunately, in the five years since their selfless acts of mercy, they have suffered this condition, without the help of the United States government.

It is our duty as citizens to support those who supported this country in a time of dire need. It is the duty of our government to honor these heroes appropriately, and fund the treatment and/or cure of this illness. We urge you, our government, to address this issue with more than words. We urge you to legislate funding to help these men and women who are continuing to pay the ultimate price for their acts of compassion.
