2006 Guilford County NC School Redistricting

We request that all government bodies in Guilford County, NC, especially the Guilford County School Board, support and implement redistricting Map D, which "is the same as Map A except for the High Point area. In the High Point area, Map D follows the 1999 Redistricting Plan adopted by the Board."
We believe in neighborhood schools and believe that all children should attend the schools closest to their homes.
We firmly believe that a successful school system depends upon community involvement fostered by neighborhood schools.
We also strongly believe that the school board should follow their own policy, namely policy JBCC: "B. The (school attendance zone) plan should serve the economic interest of taxpayers by: 1. efficiently utilizing transportation dollars; 2. anticipating needs for additional schools or additions to existing facilities in areas of high growth and communicating to the public these needs in a timely way."
