As members of the Yale Community, we join with GESO in supporting efforts to adopt a dental insurance plan for graduate and professional students. In these tough and uncertain economic times, dental insurance will help ease students financial burdens, protect against unforeseen dental expenses, promote overall health, and mitigate distractions from students coursework, teaching, and research. Yale's peer institutions already offer dental insurance for these reasons, and we applaud the efforts by many people on campus to close this gap. We call on Yale's leadership to implement a plan that will minimize graduate and professional students dental expenses by the upcoming academic year.
