The producers of the mind-numbing reality TV show "Jersey Shore" is already planning its follow-up, "Massholes". It's absurd the following that "Jersey Shore" has garnered over time, but to take that and extrapolate it to our state is just ridiculous, not to mention personally offensive. The show is supposed to be filmed in the quiet town of Dennis on Cape Cod, where locals can live peacefully and far away from this exact sort of idiocy. As a Cape Cod native, I believe I can speak for a large portion of the population in saying that the town of Dennis is no place to host such an offensive and heinous reality TV show, where the main focus is on scandals, fights and drunken mishaps between stereotypical "Masshole" types, causing problems between themselves and with the surrounding population. These self-absorbed men and women will ultimately be falsely representing OUR community, and OUR state. It would be a shocking and disgraceful stain on our quiet towns, and forever perpetuate an inaccurate and embarrassing stereotype on the Massachusetts population. It's defamatory, and completely beyond me why more people aren't upset about this. If you feel the same way, please sign this petition to stop the creation of this reality TV show. Thank you.

"Reality" television has no basis whatsoever in reality. The behavior of these people pandering to the camera is absurd and generally inexcusable. I don't find it at all entertaining nor representative of the way people truly behave.
