We the undersigned demand the immediate resignation of Canada's Minister of Finance Jim Flaherty, for lying to Canadian and other investors on his and his parties promise of non taxation of Income trusts. This breach of promise has resulted in the loss of billions of dollars in the investments of ordinary Canadian's savings, as well as corporate turmoil for Income trust entities.
Additionally we demand that a newly appointed finance minister immediately begin a study that would see Income trusts and their investors compensated via additional tax breaks, extended trust phase out periods, additional capital loss deduction capabilities, depreciation allowances and any other methods possible for the losses caused by this incompetent government action.
