Recently in Detroit, Michigan Ahmed Ramouni, a three year old American boy had been kidnapped by his motherвs ex-husband, Majed Hassan Alomer and illegally taken to the country of Jordan. The mother, Hayat Ramouni divorced Alomer after suffering from domestic abuse, as well as realizing her ex-husbandвs fraud and illegal acts that he had committed against the United States.
After divorcing Alomer, Hayat received full physical custody of Ahmed. Though the divorce court judge who granted Alomer visitation rights despite the fact that the judge was warned by several professionals that Alomer was very manipulative and aggressive towards Ahmed. Also, when notified of continuous incidents of Alomerвs threats to kidnap Ahmed from Hayat, the judge simply told Hayat that they were only empty threats.
Majed Hassan Alomer has been in deportation hearings for the past year and was facing deportation (A#78144300). Consequently, on Friday August 26, 2004, Majed took Ahmed and boarded a flight to Jordan without the motherвs knowledge or consent.
As of now, there is a warrant for Majed Alomerвs arrest in Jordan, but he has since gone into hiding and has left Ahmed alone at his grandparentвs house. However, his family his refuses to rightfully return Ahmed back to his Ramouni family.
Regardless of the fact that mothers in Jordan are not given adequate respect, Hayat has now recently traveled to Jordan with her father in order to try everything they can to bring back her child to his rightful parent and rightful home in America. This is a kidnapping of an American boy, and yet the United States seems to be doing nothing.
We ask the United States Courts to intervene and help bring Ahmed Ramouni to his Home.
