Bring Back Lego Island

We, the fans of the original Lego Island, would like some continuation of this beloved children's video game from the LEGO company.

In 1997, LEGO released their first, and in my opinion greatest, video game they have ever produced: Lego Island. I poured countless hours of my life into this game as a child, and now, to my dismay, it's difficult to even get the game to run on a modern PC. It may seem silly to those who have never played the game, or did not like Lego Island all that much, but after searching for other fans of LI on the internet, I was pleasantly surprised to find them everywhere. One fan has gone so far as to create a Lego Island 3 fan game. The fanbase for LI is, after 13 years, still fondly remembering a game that may seem archaic by any of today's standards. Yet the community remains intact.

So here is my request. After much deliberation as to what would be the best course to take regarding the future of Lego Island, these two ideas sprung to mind:

1. Release a modding application for the first Lego Island, similar to what is available for a game like Morrowind.

The modding utility would be relatively easy to toy with as the assets are extremely basic. This would also allow fans to create their own new buildings, towns, or even entirely new islands without losing that classic Lego Island feel.

2. Create an "HD" or updated version of the original Lego Island that would support XP, Vista and 7 out of the box.

With the resources at developers hands nowadays, a Lego Island HD would not take much effort or money to create. I know countless fans, myself included, would pay a small fee to be allowed into an updated Lego Island.

In closing, I know how silly this will seem to anyone who doesn't have fond memories of this ancient, budget-priced PC game. Heck, it'll probably seem silly to those who do. The reason I am making this petition is because I can honestly say that Lego Island is one of my favorite video games of all time, and I believe that not only do more people deserve to experience this game, but the fans deserve some credit for holding on to a 13 year old game for this long.

LEGO, the ball is in your court now. I hope you decide to give Pepper one more chance on all our screens.
