Bring the Subaru STi WRX to North America

The purpose of this petition is to show Subaru of America, Inc., and Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. of Japan, that North American (NA) buyers would readily purchase the STi version of the WRX (both sedan and wagon) if it were brought here.
SOA made a brave and ultimately extremely successful move in bringing the WRX to the NA market. Its introduction has launched a whole new market segment here: the affordable, turbo-charged AWD vehicle. Soon the US will be seeing the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO, an ultra-high-performance AWD vehicle. It is certainly plausible that some of the very consumers initially brought to this new market segment by SOA will now be drawn to the EVO. This is unnecessary and avoidable. The STi version of the WRX, which competes in most other markets with the EVO, could be brought here, and would be strongly welcomed by NA buyers. SOA could then have the affordable, high performance AWD segment (WRX) virtually to themselves, and also gain/keep those consumers looking for an even higher performance AWD vehicle (WRX STi).
Since the wagon version of the WRX has been selling much better than initially expected, there is no reason to expect that a wagon version of the STi would not also sell above expectations.
