Attendu que l'ancien gouvernement conservateur a fermй le Collиge des Grands Lacs en 2001 de faзon illйgale et anticonstitutionnelle, sans avoir consultй la communautй francophone du centre sud-ouest de lOntario;
Whereas the former Conservative government illegally and unconstitutionally closed Collиge des Grands Lacs in 2001, without consulting the francophone community of central and southwestern Ontario;
et Attendu que le gouvernement libйral actuel appuie la dйcision du gouvernement Harris de fermer le seul collиge francophone de la plus grande ville du Canada, pays bilingue;
And Whereas the current Liberal government supports the decision of the Harris government to close the only francophone college in the largest city in Canada, a bilingual country;
et Attendu que les 500 000 personnes qui parlent franзais de cette rйgion ont droit а leur propre collиge, avec les programmes en franзais dans un campus francophone;
And Whereas the 500,000 people who speak French in this region have a right to their own college, with programs in French, on a francophone campus;
Nous, soussignйs, adressons а l'Assemblйe lйgislative de l'Ontario la pйtition suivante :
Que le ministиre de la Formation, des Collиges et des Universitйs rйtablisse un collиge d'arts appliquйs et de technologie а Toronto pour la communautй francophone du centre sud-ouest de l'Ontario sous une nouvelle administration.
We the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly as follows:
That the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities re-establish a College of Applied Arts and Technology for the francophone community of central and south western Ontario, under a new administration.
