In the UK, the news was immediately picked up by the media; the Press Association; the Metro newspaper; The Guardian; Scottish Daily Record; the Digital Spy site; the ATV network site; The Independent; the Birmingham Post; the Daily Mail; the Morning Starr; the Daily Telegraph; the New Stateman; The Mirror; and more
As the news spread, it has created an outrage among faithful viewers in the UK, where the show had high ratings - an average of 4,2-5 million viewers per episode - as well as the United States and internationally; where the show have already been sold to countries such as Australia, France, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Norway and others.
What is particularly frustrating to viewers is that the series has been cancelled hanging in mid-air with one of the most exciting cliffhangers seen in recent years! Many feel this is an internal political decision by the BBC not made in accordance with the wishes of the viewers.
This petition is an integral part of the campaign to pressure the BBC to rethink it's decision to continue Survivors into a 3rd series. This petition will be hand-delivered to the BBC at a future date, when it reached a magic number of signatures, where UK media will be invited to cover the invent; the signatures will be presented in a unique way in relation to the 'Hope Never Dies' theme from the show.
It is the goal of this campaign to collect a significant number of signatures for this event, so please help and spread this petition in all related online communities.
A press release will shortly be sent to the UK media mentioned above, requesting them to cover the story when the petition is presented to the BBC.
The official 'Hope Never Dies' campaign site will shortly be available online and will be announced here, in the meantime, please visit the petition community currently listed for more updates and interactive news.
