Continue UID Project

Kerala Government has appointed Akshaya as an enrolment agency for conducting UID enrolment process. Based on this Akshaya Enterprenuers has purchased 273 machines andd started enrolment across Kerala for Rural population. A total of 42,618 enrolments have been done as on 04 Jan 2012. As per an Akshaya office order issued on 18.01.2012, UID payment is restricted to a maximum of 10,000 enrollments or enrollment carried out till date whichever is higher. Therefore those ACEs who crossed 10,000 enrollments where asked to stop the enrollment till further orders. If only, 30,000 enrolments have carried out, why the governemnt and Akshaya authorities insisted to buy 273 machines- while the target could have been achieved by just 30 machines!!!!! Akshaya Enterprenuers have invested around 1.5 lakh on a machines totalling up to Rs 40,950,000/- for the machines besides their manpower and other expenses. How they will get their money back.. Authorities have to answer... Akshaya has always been the arm of government in implementing various projects and extending the services to public. We appeal Kerala Goverment and Akshaya authorities to continue UID Project at any cost as this project is beneficial for the nation. Computer Professionals Union Kasargod District
