detrimental to the overall health and longevity of Americans. Obviously,
there are many contributing factors to childhood obesity, but the
main contributor to this pandemic is the effectiveness of corporate
advertising to our nation's youth, in combination with the fact that socioeconomic, political,
and cultural conditions make us powerless to stop their influence.
The purpose of this petition is to convey to the FCC that this situation
is entirely unacceptable, and ask that they implement guidelines that
prevents multi-million and multi-billion dollar conglomerates from
directly advertising to our nation's youth, in particular, children
under the age of 16.
