We, the students and parents of the DeKalb County School System are against the approval of the centralized plan. We students are not pieces of data that can be thrown around for your benefit. We are humans. We have grown attached to our schools and friends and this is the environment that we will always thrive best in. The class of 2011 especially has dealt with too many changes to be thrown another blow. The Georgia High School Graduation Math Test has been made harder for us; the math program has changed entirely. Once again, the class of 2012 has been made the guinea pig for the state, don't cause difficulty on a county level. We are shocked at the idea of taking our senior year away, dumping us in a new facility that in reality will face many technical and scheduling issues not to mention we don't even know what classes will be offered there. How are we to get our teacher recommendations for college or take the Deutsch Sprachdiplom Test that is brand new to Chamblee this year? We helped bring that honor to the school and are not eager to have it taken away. What will colleges think of students applying from a school with no name? Please, we're not willing to risk our futures for this plan. We are not data. We are people.
