Develop bicycle lanes in HRM

BRIEF
By completing this form, I am indicating my support for the City of Halifax to explore creating and developing new bicycle lanes within the city and going in and out of the city centre.

CONCEPT
HRM currently has minimal bike lanes into and around the city. Many of the ones that exist are too short, are not practical and some lanes end dangerously sending cyclists into traffic.

In mid-September, HRM will be holding planning meetings to discuss long-term city planning. This presents HRM residents with a unique opportunity to encourage the city to factor bicycle lanes into the planning process.

There are many benefits of increasing bicycle lanes in the city including:

1. Promoting a healthy lifestyle for Nova Scotians
2. Making it safer and easier for cyclists to navigate the city streets
3. Offering more economic, healthy and environmentally-friendly transport options
4. Reducing traffic congestion into the city

Please indicate your support by filling out this petition AND by forwarding this link on to those you know who would be interested in supporting this proposal.

Thank you for your time!!
