Disney Villains

I am a young adult who still believes in the magic of Disney. I do not mean the new Disney movies or the Disney channel, but the classics. I know that I am not alone.


One of the most beautiful things about these timeless films is the music. Years spent watching and singing along to Disney movies has cultivated an endless love for music in me.


As a child, I was always fascinated by the "bad guys". I wondered why Frollo hated the gypsies, what Maleficent had against Sleeping Beauty, what fueled Scar's desire to become king, and what motivated the other villains as well.


When my two loves, villains and music, were combined, I was always thrilled. My favorite songs were often sung by or about the evildoer in a given movie. These songs have a rich, wonderful quality that the "good guy's" songs never had.


I would like to have a CD made up of the songs sung by the villains of Disney movies. I realize that a similar CD has been made up (Cruella's Favorite Villain Songs), but it includes songs from more recent films, like "The Return of Jafar", and does not include some of my favorites from the classics, like "Poor Unfortunate Souls", from "The Little Mermaid, and "Hellfire", the mature, slightly disturbing song from "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". I also realize that this CD might not appeal to the younger Disney fans, but to us more mature fans, this album will delight and fascinate.
