We, the undersigned, are frequent users of the services of MapQuest.com who appreciate the ability to get detailed maps of different areas and driving directions through the use of your website. As outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy hiking and geocaching using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, we often use your Driving Directions feature when planning to drive to and from distant locations. Although the Driving Directions feature is still offered when one accesses a map by inputting an address, we were dismayed about your recent decision to no longer offer this feature when one accesses a map by inputting the Lat/Lon coordinates. Through geocaching, we learn about locations for hiking using Lat/Lon coordinates. These locations, whether in the wilderness or in urban and suburban parks, often do not have readily identifiable postal addresses. As such, the ability to access driving directions to get us to the vicinity of these often remote locations using their Lat/Lon coordinates was a valuable feature of MapQuest that we enjoyed.
We hope you will strongly consider reinstating the Driving Directions feature to the Lat/Lon maps. Thank you.
