British Sikhs are one of the largest minority groups. They bring a rich value based system which echoes a message of equality, community, spirituality and mutual respect. The Sikhs have made valuable social, cultural, political and economical contributions, which have seen them become an important part of a diverse British society.

After the success of the BBC documentary 1984: A Sikh Story, and the appreciation Sikhs and non Sikhs have shown for this endeavour. We would like to encourage the BBC to develop further programming involving the Sikhs. We hope this will help to foster understanding and awareness of the Sikhs and contribute towards greater community cohesion.
