Establish a European/American Heritage Month Nationwide

Dear President George W. Bush,

We the people of the European/American community are petitioning for you to establish a European/American Heritage Month in the month of October.

Today in the United States, we celebrate many cultures and ethnic groups, which is great that is a part of America's culture. However the largest etnic group has been ignored and in many cases attacked by special interest groups, removing George Washington from public school text books, removing almost all European/American history and changing history. Such as the Vulcan Society's preasure to change the World trade center statue from a statue that represented historical facts of 3 Euro/American firefighters raising a U.S. flag in the face of terrorism. The Vulcan society was so Anti-Euro/American as to pressure for the statue to be changed. This is only one example of the utter disrespect that European/Americans today face due to bigotry and unawareness of the good and moral values that the majority of Euro/Americans hold close to their hearts despite their religion or beliefs.

The plague of disrespect by special interest groups and the Mass media for our people has led to mass distrust, confusion, and especially resentment. A backlash on a massive scale in the mass majority is inevitable unless we can stop it, by making Euro/Americans aware that they do matter, that their striving, fighting, dieing by the thousands for America and her beliefs was not in vain. For freedom and Justice for all.

That is why a European/American heritage month must be estabish on a nation wide scale, This will bring a sence of peace, a sence of belonging, and a sence of unity for all of us. The rest of the year we celebrate multi culturalism, which is great but it has erased us and our heritage. Lets put European/Americans where we belong, in a place in this multi racial/cultural society in which we live, for all that we won and all that we lost from our struggles from Europe to modern day America, We need not to be ashamed of who we are. And it is time we have pride in who we are as a people in modern day America, a people that has made it possible for multi culturalism to exist, a people that has built this country with the help of others. A people that supports peace and prosperity and spread this message of hope around the world. There is nothing "racist" about this. It is time we have our place in Multicultural America instead of being pushed aside and being refered to only as whites. This is a step that must be and should be tooken, for the better of our people and the better of the U.S. All Americans should have unity, but how can we embrace others when we are taught to be ashamed of who we are?

This is about equal treatment, to not allow Euro/Americans to have a Heritage month for no other reason that they are "white" is plain bigotry and is unconstitutional.

It is time to take this step.
