We ask that you fight with us in changing how most drug rehab centers and programs act towards clients.
We need fighters to help us pass legislation to require mandatory stays at rehab for a min of 4 months and none of this they are free to leave business.
This is what Narcotics Anonymous said to me:
We are not a counselor, we are an organization of addicts helping addicts.
You folks have experienced the issues and dealt with the issues and now hold meetings to help others
WHAT DOES A COUNSELOR DO?
A counselor is no different than someone with the knowledge and experience and holds meetings as well
So yes, you are a counselor of sorts
you offer advice and that's what counselors do
Even if it's just talking to someone about their problems
How can drinking and drug abuse be a disease?
It is a decision and once people can see this they can choose not to just as they chose to.
It is a very powerful link to a locked assumption that orgs put out
Its not permanent.
Alcoholism is a temporary negative state of mind;drug abuse or drug use is an action putting you into a negative state of mind.
And you have to be shown or forced to stop that negative behavior and experience great amounts of pain for change to occur.
That's what counselors do - they show you the way and eventually force you to do what must be done or you suffer the consequences of your actions - a dr can't do that with a disease of the flu but to give medication that forces to break the flu up.
DISEASE:
A pathological condition of a part, organ, or system of an organism resulting from various causes, such as infection, genetic defect, or environmental stress, and characterized by an identifiable group of signs or symptoms.
A condition or tendency, as of society, regarded as abnormal and harmful
But how can you when you have a bar in just about every major intersection of a major city?
That's where it starts with most people, right?
The sensations aren't too much different amongst each other either, right?
And many of those that drink, smoke and smoke pot or other harmful drugs
I've been a drug dealer and addict myself years ago and stopped cold turkey because I saw what it was doing to people around me.
People have too many excuses and its not a disease.
It's laziness and like my uncle of AA told me, its a lack of willpower that keeps them reinforcing the negative behavior on top of the lack of a proper support system - again, if you have drunks around you and bars everywhere, what kind of support system is mostly out there?
You see the demographics, you know the epidemic that's out there.
Elliot Ness had the right idea all along 60 yrs ago - prohibition
If you didn't have alcohol running through peoples veins for years when they got depressed, and then breeding children, you wouldn't have this epidemic of wide proportions of drug abuse and rampant drunks walking the streets.
And don't even get me started on most of these rehab joints
You are allowed to leave the institution??
Then you go back to your same negative environment and back into an institution after you roamed the streets again for a few months or create some horrible crime.
Or how about some of these places that charge $500-1000 a day for 1-2-4 month rehab programs?
Most people who are down in the dumps and drunk or high don't have that kind of money to spend to get help.
So again its about money and not about helping your fellow man.
If you touch the stove when it's 200 degrees, what's going to happen?
You're going to get burned
Any dummy knows that
But if you go back to that burner while its on and touch it, whose fault is that if you know the results from the past?
If your brother needs help he will look for it himself.
WHEN?
WHEN ITS TOO LATE?
WHEN MOST OF HIS ORGANS AND BRAIN ARE COOKED WHERE ITS UNREPAIRABLE?
HOW CAN YOU AS PART OF AN ORGANIZATION SAY TO PEOPLE THAT THEY HAVE TO WANT HELP WHEN THEIR IN THEIR SITUATION IN THE FIRST PLACE BECAUSE THEY ARE STUCK IN A COMFORT ZONE AND MOST DON'T WANT HELP?
They know rehabs are all over the place
They know dr's are out there, etc
People want to run around the bush and interpret things differently than what they really are and will fight to prove their right
IF YOU THINK I'M WRONG - WHY ARE WE AS A NATION LOSING THE WAR AGAINST DRUGS AND ALCOHOLISM?
Because the same systems being implemented for years aren't working and your state, local and federal governments aren't being there for you to fight ALL THE WAY
And addicts aren't just addicts, they are taught to build the supply chain.
Its all about the mighty dollar and god said in the 10 commandments thou shalt not lust and that's what exactly what it boils down to.
Take a look at MTV/VH1 at Wild On
Thousands of people in their 20's and 30's drinking up a storm and the nice lookin women right there along with them.
The rap music with their negativity;the rock music with their negativity, the various shows of wild inhibitions, etc.
Then the next day they wonder what happened, but are so involved with their friends that they keep repeating their same negative behavior and this is what they teach society
And it happens over again

Look at a television as a bar
You go to that television when you need your "fix" of alcohol
You are constantly being fed the same negative patterns over and over again and the media industry has created an epidemic within its own industry of people watching tv at an avg of 14 hrs a day
There's no TV Anonymous for that
So you're substituting one negative behavior after another until you get to the point where you explode and create harm to yourself or create harm to someone else
In most cases the 12 step program does not work
ADDICTS NEED TO BE REQUIRED TO STAY AT THE FACILITY TO GET CLEAN, NOT TO BE ALLOWED TO ROAM OUTSIDE AND MORE SECURITY ON GROUNDS
