For Justice in Britain regarding the parole of Thompson and Venables, and Community Protection Law

We, the undersigned, as citizens of the world and members of the human race, object to your involvement in the release of Robert Thompson and John Venables, murderers of the toddler James P. Bulger, into anonymity! We object to your statements of July 29, 2002 supporting life long immunity from the justice of serving fair time in prison.

We have determined that your position on this matter has clearly been against the protection of communities of law-abiding citizens of the United Kingdom whose hard won earnings have been grossly misused if they cannot know the residences and names of violent offenders!

We site your statements to the press of late as contradictory, and therefore as evidence of your incompetence to reflect fair judgement in the best interest of the good citizens of your nation, much less in the interest of the Human Rights so often referred to during the trial of Thompson and Venables.

Recognizing the crime against James Bulger as among the most shocking, outrageous and inhuman murders in modern times, we call into question what qualifies as a 'most most serious crime' and how it is different from a ' very, very grave' crime.

We object to your statement that time would tell if the decision for parole was correct. This implies that they must kill again to prove it! On behalf of the citizens who reside in the communities where [those formerly known as] Thomspon and Venables are now, we refuse to support the implication of humans as prey. We refuse to carry the burden of proof for any parole board which attempts to press it upon us when the majority of the people of the United Kingdom, and hundreds of thousands worldwide did not agree with the decision.

We refuse to accept that these violent offenders have been rehabilitated, on the basis that there is evidence to the contrary of the view that they were doing things as children that they could not or would not as adults. We site evidence, particularly within 'Jon Venables', of psychopathy, as per the observations made by mental health professionals during his time in secure custody. We also site the common wisdom of parents world-wide who can state in no uncertain terms that their offspring under ten know that such terrors as those inflicted upon James are morally reprehensible and far beyond child's play!

We reject your assumption that Thomson and Venables would have been killed if released without new identities, calling into question your opinion of the good people of England and Wales, to reduce them, your employers to whom you owe protection, to no more than a mindless mob of animals in one fell swoop. By these words we determine that you have based your judgement for parole upon your own personal bias! This is hardly the model of objective and fair judgement.

Therefore we call upon you to consider, once more, your stance regarding Thompson and Venables, and the meaning of justice. We call upon you to restore the faith of your nation in the governance of your office.

At the very least we firmly support, implore and even demand the creation of a community protection law in the United Kingdom, as per Sarah's Law, that never again may the Bulger case repeat itself, and never may families be ignorant of dangers to their existence posed by violent offenders released from prison.

At the most we petition that the offenders formerly known as Robert Thompson and Jon Venables be revealed, or imprisoned the rest of their term, if not for life.
