To the parents of Phil,
We would like you to understand that by imposing a punishment on Phil's freedom this week, for the fiasco last week, not only greatly disheartens Phil, but his friends who had plans with him. We, as the friends, feel we are being punished in turn, for something we didn't do. We are all good kids for the most part, who brush our teeth after meals, do our homework and get good grades, and do not have criminal records. We intend to tell you that even letting him out once, for a long evening of gaming and good, clean fun, is much better than not letting him have his close friends around. If you do so agree, of course, he will abide by your terms, we can assure you. Even if Phil, the kid who has some of the most respect for his parents I've ever met, chooses to bend the rules, his friends will be so appreciative of his amnesty for the time, that they will make sure he follows your rules to the word. So as his friends, and the friends of his friends who are affected, and the friends of them, and some kids you don't know, we beg on Phil's behalf to set him free for a time so that we may enjoy his company. Thank you so very much for taking the time to read, and if you choose to set him free, the negotiations of time will be strictly between you both and him. I'd like to close with some words of wisdom. "A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush." As is comparable, "A Phil in captivity is worse than two Phil's free. Thank you.
