Give Monk a Better Trudy

We, the fans and followers of USA Network's original series Monk, wish to express our disappointment with the recent casting for the replacement of Stellina Rusich as Monk's late wife, Trudy Monk. Stellina Rusich, for many, embodied Trudy, and achieved the look and feel of this character perfectly. Recently, on the episode "Mr. Monk and the Game Show," Stellina Rusich had to be replaced for whatever reasons. I do not object to the fact that Stellina Rusich had to be replaced. Although this is disappointing, I understand that actors may have other commitments. However, your choice to play Trudy in the flashback sequences and also replacing the existing photographs that Monk had, was very poor indeed. You could have gotten a much better actress to play the role. This actress looked nothing like the Trudy we know, and her demeanor was aggressive, not the kind and compassionate woman that Adrian Monk married. I am petitioning that you ensure a much better replacement is selected the next time any Trudy appearances must be made. Perhaps this is not important to you as television producers, but as fans, it is critical to us that Monk's wife be portrayed with some level of believability. Please reconsider your casting of Trudy Monk.
