Some individuals would have students, faculty and administrators believe the majority of students strongly disagree with the measure to open Shuttle-UM services to College Park citizens.
This petition has been created as an opposition movement to this claim. Individuals who would fit into this category are as follows:
1. Those who are indifferent, ambivalent or otherwise disinterested.
2. Those who recognize that the proposition may not be perfect, but are optimistic that over time improvements and positive results will follow.
3. and Those who whole heartedly support the proposition.
The Student Government Association has decided to support the decision. Others have as well, including a silenced minority within the Residence Hall Association and University Commuters Association. We recognize this is not an easy undertaking, but the promise of positive community relations and community development are worth UMDs effort.
We, the undersigned, do not oppose the Department of Transportation Services (and its Director David Allen) opening Shuttle-UM to local residents, we are supportive, optimistic, and/or indifferent.
