Grant Wiccans Use of Hospital Meditation Room

This petition is to bring attention to the grave misconceptions, and misunderstanding that the St. Alexius Medical Center, a Roman Catholic Hospital, has towards the Wiccan faith. In this news article:

It was announced that the hospital created a solarium and meditation room where non-Christians can pray and worship as they see fit. This is a wonderful gift for non-Christians who are being treated at this hospital, however these rules were also listed:

"The hospital has published rules for use of the room. Peyote, used by some American Indian groups in ceremonies, and other drugs are prohibited, as is the "practice of any religion or act which is diametrically opposed to the Roman Catholic Church." The hospital lists "Satanism, Wicca and Voodoo" as examples."

We hereby declare that Wicca is NOT diametrically opposed to the Roman Catholic Church or any law-abiding religion. We declare that Wicca is NOT the opposite of Catholicism and that we love and cherish freedom of religion and thusly could not ever be opposed to any law-abiding religion. We declare that Wiccans do not believe in any entity of pure evil known as satan.

We feel that there is a grave misunderstanding between the Catholic faith and Wiccans. We invite the leaders of the St. Alexius Medical Center to educate themselves about Wicca at this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicca and to reconsider allowing Wiccans to use the solarium and meditation room as any other non-Christian religion. Wiccans are your neighbors too, do you not also love us?
