Handicap Accessibility

Western Carolina University has been able to get by with little to no changes to buildings for students with handicaps, due to a loophole in the Americans with Disabilities Act. With the passing of the new bond there should be plans to upgrade the buildings. In speaking with a representative from the University we learned that only one elevator is scheduled to be installed from the bond money. There should be more being done to upgrade. This petition will be sent to Chancellor Bardo in attempts to raise the university awareness of the lack of handicap accessibility.
