The Democratic Republic of the Congo has experienced continued violence and civil conflict for more than a decade with up to 5.4 million dead due to war-related violence, hunger and disease in a country that is listed as the site of one of the world's worst humanitarian crises. Civilians in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo remain victims of mass killings, severe torture and widespread rape at the hands of numerous armed groups operating in the provinces of North Kivu, South Kivu and Orientale. Our backs must be purposly turned to what is happening, because we simply ignore it or just dont bother to help. However, that is just because we aren't affected by it. If that was happening in your country, wouldnt you want help? I believe the United States should save the Democratic Republic of Congo by sending peacekeeping troops and aids to the country.
