Hold Modern Mom Accountable

We believe that companies should be held responsible for their online advertising and comply with applicable Fair Advertising and Trade Practices statutes.

We believe that companies that accept money in exchange for goods or services should provide the agreed to goods and services.

We believe that customers who have paid a business for services deserve prompt, courteous, and truthful replies to their inquiries.

We believe that Modern Mom LLC and its founder, Lolita Carrico, advertised products and memberships, did not provide the promised benefits commensurate with paid memberships, and in so doing treated mothers across America unfairly.

We believe that Modern Mom LLC, and its founder Lolita Carrico, engaged in Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices and repeatedly avoided giving promised refunds to members.

We believe that no paying customer of any company should have to endure nine months of lies, hassles, and harrassment in order to receive either what they paid for or a justly due refund.

Therefore, we the undersigned hereby ask the following:
1) That all members of Modern Mom's Clubs joining between April and June of 2005 immediately receive full and unconditional refunds of their membership dues.

2) That any and all members of Modern Mom's Clubs who are or would have otherwise been eligable for referral gifts immediately receive them.

3) That Modern Mom LLC admit that its employees advertised a gift with membership promotion.

4) That Modern Mom LLC, in light of aforementioned advertising, agrees to perform corrective advertising as indicated by the applicable state and federal statutes.

5) If Modern Mom LLC chooses not to do what is required by law and provide unconditional refunds to members and perform corrective advertising, that the appropriate state, federal, consumer protection, and media agencies investigate and compell Modern Mom LLC to act accordingly.
