This petition is in support of Natalie Maines and the Dixie Chicks. After the recent statement by Ms. Maines at a concert in London, many people have been quick to call the Dixie Chicks "unpatriotic" and "anti-American". Consider this:
Merriam-Webster defines "patriotism" as "love for or devotion to one's country".

If we fall victim to those who say "my country, right or wrong," or "love it or leave it," or to those who would have the Dixie Chicks drawn and quartered for expressing an OPINION, then we are no better than the countries we consider enemies. I urge you to sign this petition, and to buy as much Dixie Chicks merchandise as possible. Show them that there are still some true Americans who are willing to stand up for the Bill of Rights at home while our brave soldiers do the same overseas.
