This is a petition dirrected at Mr. Harvey Weinstein, Owner of Miramax Films. They own the rights to make the movie "Fletch Won", a Prequel to the Chevy Chase film "Fletch". Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy) is signed on to direct this film and will only direct the film if Jason Lee (Almost Famous, Chasing Amy, Mallrats) is cast as the lead to play Fletch. Harvey Weinstein disagrees with Smith's choice for Lee as the lead. So, thats why this petition is here. I want people to sign this is SUPPORT of Kevin Smith's choice of Jason Lee to play the lead role in "Fletch Won". I will then send this to Harvey Weinstein himself in hopes that it will help in a good decision.
Question:Are you even remotely thinking about what you're going to do with 'Fletch Won' yet, or is that on the 'backburner', as the elite say?
Kevin Smith: It's come down to a biiiiiig disagreement over who should play the young Irwin Fletcher. I say Lee. Harvey (Weinstein) says no. We'll see how it all shakes out.
