We the undersigned herby request that a mixed martial arts match be promoted between Jose Canseco and Herschel Walker.
On January 30, 2010 Herschel Walker defeated Gary Nagy at Strikeforce Miami by TKO in the third round. Shortly after that fight Jose Canseco approached Cesar Gracie, coach of Team Gracie Fighter to train him for a possible match against Walker. Team Gracie Fighter agreed to train Canseco.
Some in the media have portrayed this fight as a sideshow or as a joke. Team Gracie Fighter currently holds three of the Championship belts in Strikeforce (NICK DIAZ, GILBERT MELENDEZ and JAKE SHIELDS) as well as being the home of UFC fighter and The Ultimate Fighter Season 5 winner NATE DIAZ. If Jose Canseco trains with this Team and they put their name behind him, we can be assured that he will be conditioned, prepared and anything but a joke.
The people want to see this fight happen. We ask that you give serious consideration to promoting this match-up and giving the fans what they want to see.
When we have collected 50,000 signatures I will personally deliver a copy of this petition to Scott Coker of Strikeforce, Dana White of UFC and Mark Burnett of King of the Cage for their consideration.
