We (those undersigned) request that the band, Kansas, be placed on the ballot for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Kansas not only meets, but exceeds the Foundation's induction criteria through attainment of the following:
- Induction into the Rockwalk Hall Of Fame in 1995
- Nineteen albums released in a twenty-six year period (two quad platinum,
one triple platinum, one platinum, and six gold)
- Million-selling gold singles (Dust In The Wind, Carry On Wayward Son)
- #1 most played track on classic rock radio in 1997 (Carry On Wayward Son)
- Fastest selling live album in the history of the King Biscuit label
(King Biscuit Flower Hour Presents Kansas)
- Named United States Ambassadors of Goodwill in 1978
- Annual touring, with the exception of one or two years, since 1974
- Concert audiences comprised of fans from a wide range of age and economic
status
- Multi-cultural fan websites reflecting ethnic diversity throughout the
Kansas fan base
- Official website (www.kansasband.com) due to overwhelming demand for
current band merchandise and information
Kansas maintains a longstanding dedication to music, as evidenced by rigorous recording and touring since 1974. Music fans describe Kansas as a band that excels in musicianship, vocal ability, composition of inspirational music, and audience rapport. These qualities enable Kansas to significantly contribute to the evolution and perpetuation of rock music. Kansas' undeniable impact on rock earns them a place of distinction in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Fans strongly urge the Foundation to include Kansas on the next Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame ballot.
