The citizens and visitors of North Lake Tahoe suggest implementing the following strategies to make SR28 safer and more pedestrian friendly:
1. Adding additional crosswalks at the intersections of Deer and Secline Street.
2. Curb extensions at each crosswalk to create a safety zone for pedestrians.
3. Implementing a crosswalk flag program. In this type of program a pedestrian takes a flag and holds it out while crossing the street then puts it in a bucket on the other side of the street when finished crossing.
