This petition represents the need for a change in the judicial system against pedophiles and rapists. The laws need to change in order to have the sentences reflect the harshness of these crimes. The current laws are not acceptable punishment for the actions of these criminals. Sentences are not working to solve the problem and keep these people behind bars or in institutions. Pedophiles and rapists should receive sentences of 25 years with no parole or life sentences for these crimes. Murderers get that sentence, as should the punishment be for crimes as serious as these. The victims of the crimes have their spirit kill from the actions of these criminals. At this time many of these criminals are let out on parole or are given small sentences and re-offend. Pedophiles are able to get back out on the streets and harm more children due to the present easy justice system. There is a definite need for change to keep these criminals from harming any other people and repeating their offenses. We need to protect our children from these horrible people and no longer giving them the right to get back at their ways. Surveillance of these criminals along with the notification of the areas that they are present does not work at all. The proper actions are not taken when dealing with the criminals of these offenses, and there is a need for more severity in these matters. We need to quit turning our heads in this matter and stand up to change the way things are today for the future. Help keep them away from the innocent children that cannot protect themselves from these predators.
