Mercy Hospital recently took over operations of Tyler Memorial Hospital which operated the EMS Paramedic Unit #601. It has come to our attention that they wish to cessitate the only Paramedic Service serving all of Wyoming County as well as parts of Susquehanna and Bradford Counties. If you live in these areas, you will, under the direction of Mercy Hospital, be receiving Advanced Life Support Services from either Scranton or Clark's Summit Areas if their current plan is initiated. In plains terms, if they are allowed to do this, it could possibly take up to 30-45 minutes for Paramedics to arrive on scene to take care of you or your loved one. This is unacceptable, the Paramedics of Medic #601 have been faithfully serving your community for many years and should be allowed to continue the same with your help.
