Resign, instead hiding your inefficiency and UN complicit in Genocide of Tamils by Sri Lanka Government
We the undersigned after seeing you in the position of the Secretary General of the United Nations, as historyвs most inefficient Secretary General of worldвs foremost humanitarian body, call upon you to urgently resign from your duties.
You said you were вappalledв of the вbloodbathв in the Sri Lanka вno fire zoneв during Motherвs Day weekend, and issued yet another statement on May 11th, 2009 about the humanitarian catastrophe in Sri Lanka.
The UN continues to show callous disregard for the suffering and massacre of Tamils at the hands of the Government of Sri Lanka while your own staff Vijay Nambiar is dictating policy on matters relating to Sri Lanka only to safeguard political interests of their country of origin, instead upholding the Charter of the United Nations.
The Government of Sri Lanka is carrying out this genocidal war and collectively punishing the Tamils in what it wants the world to believe is a вhostage rescue operationв that has everything but concern for вhuman costsв of the mission in mind. This so called вrescueв is only being carried out to detain Tamils in internment camps, without livelihood and dignity.
Without prudent measures to halt the deaths and detainment of Tamils at the hands of the brutal Government of Sri Lanka while engaging in policies that allow the continuation of the Sri Lankan Army onslaught into Tamil homeland, you have made the United Nations also complicit in the genocide.
The following statement issued on May 11th by your office, just consisting of a few new вadjectivesв to describe your вfeelingsв also appears to be having the intention of hiding your inefficiency, UNвs complicit in the genocide of Tamils by the Sri Lanka Army and failure to halt the deaths and imprisonment of Tamils in internment camps:
вThe Secretary-General is appalled at the killing of hundreds of civilians in Sri Lanka over the weekend. Thousands of Sri Lankans have already died in the past several months due to the conflict, and more still remain in grave danger.
The Secretary-General has repeatedly called upon the parties to the conflict to stop using heavy calibre weaponry, including mortars, in the areas with high civilian concentrations. The Secretary-General is deeply concerned by the continued use of heavy weapons in this situation. The reckless disrespect shown by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) for the safety of civilians has led to thousands of people remaining trapped in the area.
The Secretary-General once again calls on both sides, in the strongest terms possible, to adhere to their obligations under international humanitarian law. The LTTE must immediately allow the remaining civilians in the conflict zone to leave. He reminds the parties that the world is watching events in Sri Lanka closely, and will not accept further violations of international law.
The Secretary-General urges the Government of Sri Lanka to explore all possible options to bring the conflict to an end without further bloodshed and to make public the terms under which that can be achieved without further loss of civilian life, and for the LTTE to give sober and positive consideration of those terms.в
We have seen this bluff repeatedly from your offices and instead of making repeated attempts to hide the failures of UN under your leadership to halt the misery inflicted on Tamils by Government of Sri Lanka, we call upon you to resign from the position of Secretary General of United Nations.
