CPFC kit manufacturers Nike Inc have openly admitted that workers in factories making its products are routinely hit and abused by their bosses, London Metro has revealed.
A report by Nike itself revealed that workers at two factories in Indonesia were subjected to ‘serious and egregious’ physical and verbal abuse. This is certainly not the first time Nike have come under fire for violation of its employees basic human rights.
Workers in Indonesia say they have been kicked, slapped in the face and been called ‘dogs’, ‘pigs’ and ‘monkeys’. Many of them face shifts as long as 16 hours a day, 7 days a week for as little as 30p a day. Furthermore workers in Pakistan, used for stitching footballs age as little as 4 years old. The sole reason for this being that they can be paid even less, if at all. Phil Knight, Nike Inc chairman has a personal wealth of over $5 billion.
Nike is a practitioner of modern day exploitation and slavery and furthermore commits these acts upon children from the poorest and most under privileged places in the world.
Please help to encourage CPFC to terminate their relationship with Nike Inc by signing the petition and boycotting Nike products.
We believe that CPFC's new owners are sensible enough to listen to good sense from its fans and source its kits from an ethical supplier.
