Non-randomized miniature packs

To whom it may concern, Wizards of the Coast, marketing division:

This is an online petition, to humbly request a rethink of your selling policies in regards to D&D Miniatures.

The current practice, of selling the miniatures in randomized packs, while great for collectors, is not particularly desirable or feasible for those of us who wish to use your excellent miniatures with our pen and paper D&D games.

We would like you to consider the possibility of selling miniatures in non-randomized theme packs. These packs could be grouped by themes such as "orcs", "goblinoids", "dwarves", "monsters of the Underdark", "fighters", "sorcerers" and the like. The packs would consist of a set number of non-randomized miniatures which adhered to a common them, in some form of clear or labelled packaging that indicated exactly what miniatures are inside.

The reasoning behind this is that those of us who wish to purchase miniatures for use in our pen and paper D&D games find randomized, collectable packs quite un useful for building a compliment of standardized miniatures, and lead to much duplication, and acquisition of miniatures for which we have no real use.

If this would impact on the use of these miniatures as collectibles or for the D&D Miniature Game, I would recommend that they be sold without miniatures stat cards, and with a different stamp on the base, indicating that they are not part of the collectable series. I firmly belive that non-randomized packs and collectible packs can coexist in the marketplace.

I firmly believe, both from my personal contacts, and from discussions on various Internet forums, that there most definitely is a viable market available for the sale of non-randomized miniature pack.
