Not Hiring a qualified person for a job due to previous backgroung history is Discrimination and should be banned and outlawed

Todays day and age is crazy, there are barely enough jobs to go around but yet the jobs are so selective that alot of people feel like they should not even try. Every job application states clearly 1. We are an equal opportunity Employer, 2. Background history does not subject in you not getting the job. Really? Do you believe this? I for one am a prime victim of this type of discrimination. Discrimination is not always a racial issue. There are many people out here who are clearly qualified and some even overqualified, but for some reason they do get the chance or even get considered for any position due to crimes of the past. Were we not already punished enough for our crime by the court system? I think so. Surely had to pay fines, court costs and even jail time in some cases. So why should we still be punished over and over. Do you know that job that you've always wanted and always aimed to get but every single time you apply, they give you a reason why, which in most cases the reason/reasons would be 1. Your qualifications do not match what we are looking for, When you have the experience and skills in that exact field, 2. We are not hiring at this time but will keep your application on file for 60 days, when you have heard or even seen others get hired right before your eyes, 3. We will contact you within a few days, but never makes an effort to contact you, but contacts someone else you know that did not apply until maybe three weeks after you did but got the job. This is a form of discrimination, this is a form of profiling, and these companies are certainly not equal opportunity employers. The only way to stop this is to come together and these places of business know that this unfairness and discrimination should not be allowed and should be made illegal. its a shame that you qualify for a job and have all the skills and experience neccessary to obtain it, but as soon as a background check is authorized, you have now become not unqualified, but actually disqualified from the running. If they say they are looking for certain qualities and attributes that you clearly possess but you are overlooked due to you record of the past, then tell me, what are they actually looking for? No one is perfect and we have all already been punished for our past whether it be a felony or misdemeanor, we should not have to continue getting this type of treatment.
