This is a petition to make MLB's Opening Day a National Holiday. American's have a need to celebrate sports in a recognized matter. Baseball has historically been a patriotic element of our nation. From the players participating our country's wars, breaking the color barrier, to showing the world that we will move on and persevere by having the 1st professional contests after the 9/11 bombings.
What better way of showing our history, culture and love of sports than to make "America's Passtime" a national holiday.
