Petition for the Formation of an Authorized State Defense Force

We the people of the State of Oklahoma hereby petition the Oklahoma State Legislature for the formation of a State Defense Force authorized by Title 32 US Code Section 109. With a State Defense Force in place, it would provide the means for the State of Oklahoma to respond to natural/man-made disasters, Homeland Security emergencies, and other times of crisis with trained, disciplined personnel. In todays times, with the National Guard spread so thin, the opportunity of a State Force that can only be deployed within the borders of the state and answering to the Governor is an option that cannot be ignored.
