We, the People of Howard County, Maryland, are trying to prevent Howard County from demolishing the historic Clarksville school which was the original Clarksville Middle School in Clarksville, Maryland. This handsome, classical three-story red-brick school with a fine slate roof was built in 1938 and opened in 1939. It sits prominently on Route 108, near Route 32. According to an architect, the historic core of this school remains intact and in good structural condition. Howard County is busy right now tearing down the LAST historic place in Clarksville, Maryland. The protests of the people have been and are being ignored. Time is now of the essence!! As of Saturday, January 9, only some of the slate shingles had been removed from the roof.
