In Ontario, a person can take compromising photographs or videos of you for sexual gratification without your knowledge and there is no law that allows you to claim against them damages for the invasion of your privacy. Predators hide cameras in places like washrooms, bedrooms or showers and the images are used for the sole purposes of their sexual gratification. Ontario does not have a statutory remedy to compensate innocent victims from this type of privacy invasion. The Province of British Columbia has such a statute law which provides recompense to the victims who have suffered humiliation by this outrageous and criminal conduct. We want the Ontario government to implement legislation to permit victims to sue for damages when their privacy rights are violated. You won't know it's happened to you until it's too late.
