Stateside, the show about people, places, and things, Filipino-American, should be aired once again. To many Filipinos, Stateside was a show that brought Filipino families together. Stateside was a show that had a little something for each generation. Because of a generational gap, many older Filipinos watch many Filipino shows in Tagalog; but what about the younger generation? Stateside is one of the few shows, if not the only show on TFC/KTSF that younger Filipino-Americans watch. It helped the young pinoys/pinays learn a bit about their culture. Plus, it also influenced many Filipino-Americans to strive to be known in mainstream media. Stateside was a show that promoted Filipino-American/Asian artists signed under independent labels to become known to their peers, and to showcase their talents. Now, without Stateside, it is now harder for Filipino-Americans to "promote" themselves. Stateside also featured many successful Filipinos in various fields of business, and showed that Filipinos do have the capability do achieve their goals, showing high school/college students that no matter what race a person is, he or she can become successful if he or she works for it; that certain careers are not only for certain races/ethnicities. We are strong supporters and fans of Stateside, the show about people, places, and things Filipino-American, and would like the show to return to entertain us every Saturday at noon. We often looked forward to every Saturday to watch the latest episode of Stateside, and talked about it with our families and friends. Please bring Stateside back, because Stateside is not just a show; it is a way of life.
