Rename Mark McGwire Highway

In regards to the Missouri Senates decision to rename the old stretch of "Mark McGwire Highway" after author Mark Twain. We respectfully ask the governmental agencies responsible for naming the section of highway currently known as the "Mark McGwire Highway" consider;
A) listening to the concerns of motorists and residents who live near the aforementioned stretch of highway.
B) options regarding renaming the highway after a person who has made a difference not just in the community in which the roadway is located, but St. Louis as a whole.
While the literary contributions of Mark Twain should not be discounted, his accomplishments and body of work does not resonate as strongly on the north side of St. Louis as perhaps they would in his hometown of Hannibal, Missouri.
Obviously, there are many outstanding local/area individuals to be considered. We request an opportunity to nominate noteworthy individuals and have our nominations seriously considered in the highway renaming process.
