Republicans for Powell

We, the undersigned, are Republicans in Georgia who support JB Powell for Agriculture Commissioner.

We believe in conservative principals and vote for people like Ronald Reagan, Sam Nunn and JB Powell who share our conservative principals regardless of their political party. We dont believe that JB Powells opponent, Gary Black, who voted for John Kerry in the 2004 Presidential Primary and then switched parties to run for Agriculture Commissioner, shares our conservative principals.

We believe that the Agriculture Commissioner should be a farmer like JB Powell not a lobbyist for Wall Street agribusiness companies like Gary Black. We are concerned about the safety of our food and believe that food from local farms is healthier than food produced in factories by the big agribusiness companies Gary Black lobbies for.

We believe that the government should get out of the way and allow the people of Georgia to vote on legalizing horse racing as JB Powell has stood up for.

We believe the Agriculture Commissioner should help small farmers not get tangled up and put out of work by burdensome regulations. JB Powell has publicly committed to addressing the needs of small and medium farmers to deal with these concerns whereas Gary Black has said he will form a committee to look at it, which sounds like big government and frustrating obstacles rather than the action and results we need.

For these reasons, we are voting for whom we as Republicans think is the best person to be Agriculture Commissioner: JB Powell
