Restore WBGN-TV to Comcast Cable Systems

On Sunday, February 1, 2009 Comcast Cable is scheduled to drop WBGN-TV from its cable systems. Due to the economic down turn, WBGN is unable to fully pay the exorbitant amount of money that Comcast demands for carriage on their cable system. WBGN is the only Pittsburgh TV station that Comcast charges for carriage. In fact, Comcast pays most TV stations like CBS, ABC, NBC and FOX. Comcast can easily carry WBGN at no charge to Comcast or Comcast customers. Unfortunately, Comcast has decided that YOU (their customers) do not want WBGN and The Its Alive Show on their cable system.
Yes it is sad but true; Comcast has decided that you do not want WBGN so they are taking it away from you. Comcast is not replacing WBGN with anything - however they still expect you to pay the same rate for your monthly bill, you will just be getting less service.
WBGN is the region's only locally owned television station available on Comcast. WBGN airs family oriented first run programming such as American Idol Rewind, Martha Stewart, Family Court, Style by Jury, Jack Hannas Animal Adventures and Dog Tales. Locally, WBGN has a daily live local mass at noon, the critically acclaimed Its Alive show on Saturday night and a wide assortment of programming from other local producers.
Nielsen Media Research says that at least 7 percent of all homes watch WBGN each day. In fact WBGN consistently ranks in the top 50 of all cable channels on the Comcast line up.
The undersigned wish to make it known to Comcast their dissatisfaction of this situation and ask that Comcast immediately return WBGN to our cable lineup!

Please continue to air It's Alive" on WBGN -TV. It's a great local channel and the show is a Pittsburgh tradition.
