To remember the 21 men who perished at City Hall lockup June 21 1977. Including on this said plaque the history of this tragic event in a respectful manner.
2 Lowering of the City FLAGS/BANNERS to half-staff at all Government buildings in the City of Saint John Saint John County New Brunswick Canada every 21st day of June to honor there MEMORY.
This horrific tragedy in it's time, was the largest JAILHOUSE fire where so many men lost there lives due to lack of training or response time of the guards/police whom were commissioned to watch over and provide safety to.
THIS TRAGIC EVENT IS PART OF SAINT JOHN NEW BRUNSWICK HISTORY AS WELL AS CANADIAN HISTORY, IT SHOULD BE REMEMBERED BY ALL.
