Starting Labor Day, 2004, the Maine Department of Transportation plans to cut 170 trees along Route 1 in Camden from the Public Library to the State Park. The MDOT claims that everyone is happy and that all interests have been reconciled. We citizens and visitors in Camden are NOT happy. My signature on this petition is in support of a moratorium on quick MDOT cutting. More discussion and negotiation are urgently needed to save Camdens beautiful, historic trees.
