Save Rex's life

Iwould like to begin circulating a petition to save Rex's life. He has been taken to the Hanover Animal Control, Hanover County, Virginia. Friday, March 10, 2006 he bit a little girl while he was tethered, a violation of my contract. The child was unsupervised during a party that was held by the people that I adopted Rex to and the circumstances are suspect at best as to what the to caused Rex to Bite. No information was provided after repeated inquiries on my part. When under our care, he was repeatedly exposed to children and other dogs, both of whom he loved. He never exhibited any signs of aggression. The adopters violated the tethering clause, and did not follow through on heartworm preventative after my husband I spent 3 months nursing him through the painful procedure of heartworm treatment. This was clearly stated in their contract.
Although I feel very badly for the injured child, I do not think that Rex is the one to pay the price with his life. He was a loving, wonderful dog and these people were irresponsible and negligent while throwing a party.
He will be euthanized per Sgt. Kilgore of Hanover County Animal Control. I have this case now with an attorney

Rex should be returned to the rescue/foster family. The adoptive family is irresponsible, violated their contract, and should be the ones punished--not Rex.
